PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- A Medford man thinks the West Coast should have a sister to the Statue of Liberty, but he's got a task to raise $10 million for the project.

The Oregonian reports that Jay Jarvie has built a 56-inch model of the statue he'd like to see on a 30-acre green somewhere in Oregon.

He imagines it would be 140 feet tall and cast in the same bronze metal as the famous 151-foot-tall statue at New York.

The Oregon statue called "Providence Lifts All" wouldn't be a replica, though. For example, it would hold a sword, not a torch.

Jarvie came up way short when he tried raising funds online, through the Kickstarter site. He managed to raise only $185 of the $35,000 needed to continue developing the project.
