Police handle numerous crashes Wednesday night
Wednesday night brought slicks roads all across the Treasure Valley. According to Andrea Dearden with the Ada County Sheriff's office, between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday night, Ada County Sheriff's emergency dispatchers received reports of the following incidents:
10 crashes without injuries
6 crashes with injuries
3 hit-and-run crashes
2 stuck vehicles
Because of the conditions, the connector was closed to traffic between 6:45 and 7:00 p.m.
Idaho State Police also managed additional crashes and incidents Wednesday.
"With the temperatures below freezing overnight, the roads will likely be icy during the commute [Thursday] morning," said Dearden. "Drivers are urged to plan ahead and leave plenty of time to arrive safely at their destination, slow down, keep a safe distance between vehicles and allow plenty of space to stop safely."
