Police looking for Red Kettle thieves
POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) -- Pocatello police are on the lookout for thieves who broke into a Salvation Army office and stole several of the organization's seasonal donation kettles.
Police say burglars broke a window to enter the Salvation Army building either late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
Investigators were collecting evidence Monday but also asking for community help in solving the case. The iconic red kettles and the volunteers who ring bells set up shop outside of retail stores each holiday season to raise money for those served by the nonprofit.
Police are uncertain how much money was stolen because the kettles taken had not yet been counted.
