Idaho politicians react to Sen. Crapo's arrest in Virginia
Junior Idaho Senator Jim Risch has issued a statement about Senator Crapo's arrest for Driving Under the Influence on Dec. 23 -
“Senator Crapo has acknowledged that he made a serious mistake and he has apologized for his actions," said Sen. Risch. "As a friend and colleague, I offer my support and help to him in any way I can. Senator Crapo has worked hard on behalf of Idahoans for many years and I have full confidence that Senator Crapo will continue his dedicated and unselfish service to the people of Idaho.”
Idaho Democratic Party chairman Larry Grant issued a statement Monday afternoon as well -
"The Idaho Democratic Party greeted news of the drinking and driving arrest of U.S. Sen. Mike Crapo with surprise and dismay," Grant said. "Sen. Crapo showed bad judgment and failed to uphold the basic standards of conduct that Idahoans expect of our elected public servants. Unfortunately, Sen. Crapo joins a growing list of elite, GOP, elected officials who have embarrassed Idaho on the national stage in recent years. We deserve better."
