Nampa, Gooding residents both die in in 2-vehicle crash, 3 others injured

BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- Idaho State Police say a 22-year-old woman from Nampa and a 23-year-old man from Burley have died in a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 84 in Gooding County in south-central Idaho.

Police say Sorensen for unknown reasons lost control of her westbound 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt about 6:45 p.m. Friday and drove into the median and overturned. Police say the vehicle continued into the eastbound lanes and collided with a 2010 Nissan Maxima driven by Ryan Bowen.

Police say Bowen died at the scene and Sorensen was taken to a hospital in Boise where she died.

Police say 52-year-old Franklin D. Bowen, 50-year-old Nedra G. Bowen and 17-year-old Loralee Bowen, all of Burley, were passengers in Ryan Bowen's vehicle, and all three were transported by air ambulance to a Boise hospital.
