Idaho mayor unhappy with firehouse break-in probe
SUN VALLEY, Idaho (AP) -- The mayor of Sun Valley is unhappy with an investigation into a break-in at the local firehouse.
Sun Valley Mayor Dewayne Briscoe said the break-in that was discovered earlier this year when documents went missing was never fully investigated.
The Idaho Mountain Express reports there's a difference of opinion over why the probe was halted.
Sun Valley Police Chief Cam Daggett says he thought somebody else would pursue the matter after the mayor's office asked his department to hand over evidence to the Blaine County Sheriff's Office.
But Briscoe says he never directed Daggett to end his probe.
According to police reports, fire department officials believe documents went missing sometime in February when they noticed emails had been deleted and paperwork listing uncompensated work hours had disappeared.
