Pedestrian killed in Vancouver; driver arrested for suspicion of being under influence of marijuana
VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) -- Police in Vancouver, Wash., say a man crossing a street while carrying a grocery bag was struck and killed by a pickup truck Monday evening. The pickup's driver was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence of marijuana.
Police spokeswoman Kim Kapp identified the driver as 47-year-old Scotty R. Rowles.
The victim was not immediately identified pending notification of relatives.
The Columbian reports that several pedestrian fatalities have occurred in the area.
