Caldwell woman charged with nine counts of animal cruelty
The Canyon Sheriff’s Office announced today that Sabrina Carmack, 57 of Caldwell, has been charged with nine counts of animal cruelty following an investigation by Canyon County Animal Control Deputies.
"On November 28, 2012, four horses and six goats were seized from Carmack’s property by the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office and are now in protective custody," said Joe Decker with Canyon County. "The seized animals are currently being treated by a licensed veterinarian for malnutrition and other health-related issues. One of the horses had to be euthanized."
Decker said that two of the six goats were pregnant, and have since given birth. The four kids are all in good health and are currently in protective custody under the care of a licensed veterinarian and the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office.
Carmack is currently on probation for possessing too many dogs without a kennel license. The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who has been contacted by Carmack regarding the purchase of animals, to please call the Canyon County Animal Control Office at 454-7531.
