Jerome man dies after SUV struck by train
JEROME, Idaho (AP) -- The Idaho State Police has released the name of a 64-year-old man who died when his sport utility vehicle was struck by a freight train at a crossing south of Jerome.
Jess Linch of Jerome died at the scene of the crash Wednesday afternoon.
The ISP says Linch was southbound on U.S. Highway 93 when he failed to yield at the crossing. The train struck the driver's side of the SUV and pushed it 400 yards along the tracks.
The ISP continues to investigate the crash.
