UN Security Council condemns N. Korea rocket launch
UNITED NATIONS (AP) -- The U.N. Security Council is condemning North Korea's successful rocket launch.
The U.N.'s most powerful body said in a brief statement after closed consultations Wednesday that the launch violated a 2009 Security Council resolution banning "any launch using ballistic missile technology."
The council said that after the North's failed launch in April it demanded that Pyongyang halt all launches.
The council said it will consider "an appropriate response."
