TRAFFIC ALERT: Delays expected at Meridian intersection tonight
Work that began Wednesday morning at the Meridian Road and Cherry Lane intersection in Meridian is expected to continue through Wednesday evening commute after a traffic signal pole was accidentally taken out of service, according to an Ada County Highway District news release.
A crew was working on a sewer crossing at the intersection and believes a trench was dug too close to the signal pole on the southwest corner, causing it to lean over, said the news release.
Drivers may want to consider Franklin Road as an alternative route for Wednesday evening.
The traffic signal will continue to operate in flashing red with flaggers at the intersection directing traffic. Lane restrictions are in place for eastbound drivers on Cherry Lane near the intersection where one lane is open to traffic, the ACHD said.
Motorists should anticipate significant delays through the Wednesday evening commute. Crews will likely work through the night hours to complete the pipe work and traffic signal repair.
