Mayor Bieter to kick off Boise's sesquicentennial celebration

Boise Mayor David Bieter will join the City of Boise Department of Arts & History director Terri Schorzman Thursday morning for the official launch of Boise 150, a year-long celebration to commemorate the City’s sesquicentennial anniversary. The event will be held at the "Sesqui Shop", a new storefront headquarters opened specifically for the year-long celebration.

"The kick-off will include the announcement of the recipients of the BOISE 150 grant program; examples of the many BOISE 150 projects being organized by Boise arts groups, non-profits and individuals; an overview of some of the major events planned for 2013; an explanation of the BOISE 150 merchant program; a 'Share Your Story' history station; and more," said Adam Park with the city of Boise.

The kick-off event will happen Thursday, Dec. 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the Seqsqui Shop located at 1008 Main Street.
