Boise Police interrupt foot chase; arrest man for stealing car, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon

Boise Police were called by several witnesses early Tuesday morning reporting a man being chased by another man in a parking lot on the 7200 block of W. Colonial Street in West Boise.

As officers were en route, witnesses told police dispatchers they saw the man get into a Jeep, and that he had a knife.

After an investigating, officers found that a man found the suspect, later identified as Bryan K. Jacobs, 36 of Nampa, rummaging through his vehicle. When the victim confronted Jacobs, he pulled a knife ont he car owner and began chasing him down the street.

When police arrived, they found the suspect and ordered him out of the vehicle but he did not obey, and ended up struggling with the officers. They then deployed a taser on the man.

"Officers then found a car parked next to the victim's car had been reported stolen earlier yesterday morning from an apartment complex near W. Fairview Ave and N. Allumbaugh St. In that case, the victim said the car had been left open and the keys inside when it was taken," said Charled McClure with the Boise Police Department. "When officers located the vehcile, inside they found evidence linking Jacobs to the theft of that vehicle."

Jacobs was arrested for Felony Grand Theft, Felony Burglary, Felony Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon, Resisting & Obstructing officers and a Felony Agents Warrant.
