Idaho man pleads guilty to animal cruelty
POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) -- An eastern Idaho man named Town Hall has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor animal cruelty and sentenced to a year of probation for failing to properly care for his horses.
The Idaho State Journal reports the Bannock County Sheriff's Office first investigated Hall last year after hearing reports of malnourished horses at Hall's property in Downey. At the time, Hall agreed to care for the animals in the way recommended by an animal control officer.
But Hall was charged in March after prosecutors said he failed to live up to that promise, and that about 20 dead horses were found on another property belonging to Hall. Several live horses were suffering from malnutrition. He pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor on Monday.
