Official: NATO OKs Patriot missiles for Turkey for defense
BRUSSELS (AP) -- A NATO official says the military alliance has approved plans to send Patriot anti-missile systems to southern Turkey to bolster its defense against strikes from neighboring Syria.
NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen was expected to make the announcement later Tuesday.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to speak publicly on the matter.
