Mule deer poached in northern Idaho
BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- Idaho Fish and Game officials say a mule deer buck and doe have been poached in northern Idaho east of the town of Tensed on timber company property, and information is being sought to catch those responsible.
Officials say the deer were poached Nov. 24 off the end of Fox Road.
A group of hunters say they watched two males dressed in camouflage and who appeared to be in their 20s shoot and kill the two deer.
The general season for mule deer closed Nov. 9, but a limited controlled hunt with only 60 tags for mule deer bucks in the entire Panhandle was opened through Saturday.
Authorities say the meat was taken from both deer and the antlers from the male, which was a mature adult.
