Brundage gets four inches of fresh snow
The Brundage Mountain ski resort near McCall received four inches of fresh snow Friday morning in the base area (at approximately 6,000 feet elevation), with several more inches reported falling at the resort’s 7,640 foot summit.
“This is exciting news for us because our forecast was for rain below 7,000 feet and we got significant snowfall instead,” said Brundage spokeswoman April Russell. “We are hoping that bodes well for the rest of the weekend.”
As of Friday afternoon, Brundage had approximately eight inches of fresh snow at the base and about eighteen inches on the upper parts of the mountain.
“If we get enough snow out of this storm to properly pack and groom our slopes, we would open Friday, December 7 through Sunday, December 9. We would re-open and stay open seven days a week starting Friday, December 14 -- weather permitting, of course,” she added.
Russell expects to release more information about the area’s opening prospects on Monday.
