Owyhee Plaza properties sold to Boise developer
The Owyhee Plaza Hotel has been an icon in Boise since it was built in 1910, and today it was announced they will be under new ownership.
The Owyhee Plaza properties have been purchased by Owyhee Place LLC, a local real estate development group led by General Manager Clay Carley.
“The Owyhee Plaza is a cultural icon in this community," said Carley. "We’ll respect and build upon its heritage, while making significant investments to revitalize the properties. We believe its unique location has the unrealized potential to add vitality to the downtown core by really activating its western edge.”
Carley assures that the hotel and building will continue operating as it has in the past, but renovations on the property will begin in 2013.
“We have ideas about how to make the office space more attractive to a new class of businesses, as well as a number of creative concepts for retail and other uses that will build a real sense of place,” said Carley.
Carley also owns the Old Boise 6th & Main development on the eastern edge of downtown Boise.
