Boise man arrested for attempting to rob Eagle Winco Tuesday afternoon
Tuesday afternoon at 2:45 p.m., Eagle Police were called to the report of an attempted robbery at the Eagle Winco.
According to Andrea Dearden with the Ada County Sheriff, a clerk reported a man had tried to take money from the cash register.
"Officers say the suspect walked to walked up to the customer service desk at the front of the store and asked to be given all of the cash in the till," said Dearden. "The man repeated the request but, when a second employee approached, turned and left the store without money. The man left the area in a smaller, black SUV."
Thanks to store security cameras, investigators received information from parole officers and the public identifying the suspect as Nikolas Nikolish, 34 of Boise.
According to Dearden, police found Nikolish and a similar SUV to the one seen leaving Winco, after the attempted robbery, at the man’s home in the 5100 hundred block of Fairmont in Boise. Nikolish was arrested Tuesday night just after 7 p.m. without incident.
Nikolish was convicted of burglary and grand theft in 2007, but was released from IDOC custody in 2010 and is currently on parole.
He was arrested on charges of Felony Attempted Robbery and a Parole Violation.
