Arkansas disc golf champ faces Idaho drug charges
BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- A former disc golf world champion from Arkansas and creator of a disc dyeing system remains jailed in Idaho after being arrested with 28 pounds of marijuana in his hotel room.
The Idaho Statesman reports 54-year-old Jeffery Boyd Ash of Fayetteville, Ark., is being held on $150,000 bail and his next court appearance is set for Dec. 5.
Ash was arrested on Nov. 20 after a woman called police to report a man had shown her a cellphone picture of his genitals. Officers who responded found Ash smoking marijuana and found two duffel bags of pot in the room.
The Statesman reports Ash was a member of the University of Arkansas baseball team that competed in the College World Series in 1979 and was a 2003 world disc golf champion.
