“We are looking forward to a fun evening to kick off the holiday season with good cheer, great music and charitable giving,” Gov. Otter said. “This is a wonderful time for families and friends to gather together for good company and goodwill.”

The lighting will also help the governor and first lady help Make-A-Wish Idaho kick off its Season of Giving campaign, in an effort to raise enough funds to grant wishes to Idaho children with life-threatening illnesses.

“So often, we take our good health for granted. We need to be aware of the challenges that families face on a daily basis when they have a child with a serious medical problem,” the first lady said. “I am encouraging everyone to help lighten the load and brighten a family’s spirits by making a contribution toward a child’s wish.”
