State Rep. Donna Pence cited after crash
KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) -- A state lawmaker has been cited for failing to keep her vehicle in its lane following a crash into a power pole in central Idaho.
The Blaine County Sheriff's office says Democrat Rep. Donna Pence of Gooding was not injured in the accident on Nov. 15 when her 2010 Toyota Prius went off State Highway 75 about five miles south of Bellevue.
Blaine County Sheriff Gene Ramsey tells the Idaho Mountain Express the power pole was sheared off, causing $5,000 in damage. Two other vehicles struck the downed power lines and sustained about $1,000 in damage each.
Pence's Prius was deemed a total loss.
The 70-year-old lawmaker says she went to change a CD and when she looked up she was headed for the pole.
