Sun Valley to open Baldy and Dollar Mountains on Thanksgiving
Sun Valley Resort will open for the winter season Thanksgiving Day with skiing and boarding on Baldy and Dollar Mountains, officials announced Tuesday.

The River Run side of Baldy will open with River Run #1 and Lookout Express #5 allowing skiers access to Upper College, Roundhouse Lane and Mid & Lower River Run. For tiny Baldy skiers, the Kinderspielplatz moving carpet will operate for snow play, a spokesman for the resort said.
Dollar Mountain skiers/boarders can expect Quarter Dollar lift, Poverty Flats and Quarter Dollar Bowl.

Sun Valley also plans to provide many recreational, dining and shopping opportunities throughout the weekend.
Ice skating will be open from 10 am to 8 pm; Sun Valley Gun Club , 11 am to 3 pm; Stables offering free wagon rides leaving from the Baldy Bus Loop, 11 am to 3 pm; Bowling Alley, Thursday, 1 pm, and the remainder of the weekend 11 am to 10 pm; Playschool, 9 am to 4 pm; Virtual Golf, Sun Valley Club, 9 am – 3 pm.; Spa, 8:30 am to 6 pm. The hot pools are also open 7 am to 10 pm for guests staying at the Sun Valley Resort.
Village shops will extend their hours from 9 am to 8 pm daily.
Thanksgiving feasts will also abound throughout Sun Valley Village, officials say.
The largest feast will be the Sun Valley Inn Limelight Ballroom Buffet from 4 pm to 8 pm. For tickets, you can call 622-2135. Tickets are also available at the door.
Carol’s Dollar Mountain Lodge and River Run Lodge will be open on Dollar and Baldy; both serving specialty dishes including wood-fired pizza.
Regular village restaurant hours will resume for the remainder of the weekend.
