Man crashes into multiple horses on Idaho highway
On Friday, Nov. 16 just before 7 p.m., Idaho State Police officers investigated a one-vehicle crash on State Highway 46 just north of Wendell.
Carey Jenks, 57 of Gooding, was driving a Ford Taurus north on State Highway 46 at the 102 mile marker. Several horses were in the roadway and on the shoulder and he collided with some of them. Jenks was transported by ground ambulance to North Canyon Medical Center in Gooding. His 15-year-old juvenile passenger was transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Both passenger had been wearing seatbelts.
Two of the horses had to be put down at the scene. According to ISP, alcohol is not a factor and no charges have been filed at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
