Holiday DUI patrols to start Saturday
The Treasure Valley DUI Task Force will start the holiday patrols starting Saturday Nov. 17, 2012 in Meridian.
"The idea of the Task Force is to utilize expertise of several DUI Officers from area agencies to remove impaired drivers from our roadways," said Deputy Chief Tracy Basterrechea with the Meridian Police Department. "We emphasize the importance of people to plan ahead and if they are going out to celebrate this holiday season, please have a designated driver or plan for having a taxi to get you home safely."
According to Basterrechea, area agencies have been seeing a reduction in DUI arrests in Ada and Canyon Counties.
