Man gets up to 4 years prison for sheep skull sale
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) -- A man with a long criminal history will spend up to four years in prison after he was convicted of selling a bighorn sheep skull without the proper documents.
The Coeur d'Alene Press reports that 36-year-old Christopher Blair of Spokane was sentenced on Tuesday in 1st District Court in Coeur d'Alene.
Prosecutors say Blair knew he was committing a crime by selling the skull belonging to the wild sheep, one of Idaho's iconic species.
But it's not the first time Blair has gotten into hot water.
He has a prior felony burglary conviction, and misdemeanor convictions for theft, shoplifting, driving while suspended, and two DUIs.
According to Blair's sentence, he'll have to spend at least a year behind bars before he's eligible for release.
