Rigby snowboarder makes first US team
POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) -- A 20-year-old Rigby resident has been named to the first U.S. Women's Snowboarding Slopestyle Team.
The Idaho State Journal reports Jessika Jenson signed a contract with the U.S. team last week.
Jenson says the team will train in California, Oregon and New Hampshire before heading to its first competition in the New Zealand Open in August, and then the world championships afterward.
Jenson's goal is to make it on the U.S. Olympic team that will compete for the first time in the 2014 games in Sochi, Russia.
