Missoula man accused of stabbing estranged wife
MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) -- Missoula police have arrested a man who is accused of stabbing his wife five times in the chest and neck.
The Missoulian reports the 34-year-old woman is in stable condition at St. Patrick Hospital.
Missoula Police Detective Jason Johnson says 45-year-old Emmitt Hogsten was arrested on a charge of attempted deliberate homicide. More charges are likely to come.
Johnson says the stabbing happened Monday afternoon on Desmet Road. He says the woman told police she and her husband had been separated and Hogsten had been living in Idaho.
She told officers Hogsten wanted them to get back together and he began stabbing her with a knife in her pickup truck after she refused.
She escaped the vehicle and entered a nearby business, where she asked somebody to call 911.
