Rush hour crash on Eagle exit sends light pole across off-ramp
Monday, Nov. 12, around 6 p.m., the Idaho State Police were called to an injury crash on Interstate 84, at the top of the Eagle road offramp.
Pamela Halvorson, 65 of Meridian, was traveling westbound in a 2012 Kia Forte. Mark Oldham, age 53 of Orem Utah, was also traveling west in a 2012 Dodge van. According to ISP, Halvorson was taking the Eagle exit, and was stopped in traffic. Oldham was traveling at freeway speeds, became distracted, and rear ended Halvorson on the offramp. Halvorson's vehicle then proceeded to strike a fixed light pole. The collision caused the light pole to fall down across the westbound off-ramp and block traffic for about one hour.
Halvorson was transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's on Eagle Road. The crash is still under investigation.
