Suspect in Payette homicide located in Malheur County, arrested

Michael Culley, the suspect in the homicide that occurred on Nov. 7 in Payette County, has been located and arrested in Malheur County Oregon.

Payette County Sheriff Chad Huff has not released any more details at the time, but said that charges are pending.The investigation into the homicide of Elizabeth Baune continues.

Earlier Friday morning, Huff said the turquoise 2002 Honda Passport that reportedly left the scene of the homicide had been located.

The sheriff said the vehicle was found abandoned in Payette Thursday night. No other details were given.

“Idaho State Police forensic personnel will be processing the vehicle for evidence after a warrant has been obtained, possibly sometime today,” Huff said in the Friday news release.

Culley is considered a suspect in the homicide that took place Wednesday, when the body of 45-year-old Elizabeth Ann Baune was found in her home north of Payette. According to the Sheriff's office, Elizabeth Baune’s preliminary cause of death resulted from multiple stab wounds to the head and chest.

Culley was one of several roommates living with the victim.
