Former NFL star Farris promises replay in Idaho
BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- Democrat Jimmy Farris promises to run again in 2014 after being soundly drubbed by Republican U.S. Rep. Raul Labrador.
As an NFL football player, Farris was known as a never-say-die competitor and it appears he's hoping to earn the same reputation as a candidate.
On Wednesday -- one day after voters gave him only about 31 percent of the vote to Labrador's 63 percent -- the 32-year-old Farris said he's going "full steam ahead" toward a victory in two years.
Farris said his losing campaign was a learning experience, one he hopes to improve on in 2014 in a renewed bid in Idaho's 1st Congressional District.
Farris promised to work harder and smarter, something he'll need to do after his paltry 2012 campaign fundraising that was easily eclipsed by Labrador's.
