Police investigating Payette County homicide, victim's name released
The Payette County Sheriff’s Office and several other law enforcement agencies are investigating an overnight homicide.
According to a news release issued by the Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a 911 call at a residence north of Payette shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday night. “The caller advised that a person was believed to be deceased at the residence. Upon investigation, the death was determined to be suspicious and is being investigated as a homicide,” the news release said.
The home is in the 1600 block of Baker Lane, north of the city of Payette. They have identified the victim as Elizabeth Ann Baune, 45.
Early Thursday morning, a search warrant was issued for the home. Further details were not immediately available.
Right now, investigators from the Payette County Sheriff’s Office, the Payette Police Department, the Fruitland Police Department and the Idaho State Police continue to gather information on the homicide.
The sheriff's office is asking for the public’s help in locating a vehicle that left the scene. The vehicle description is a turquoise 2002 Honda Passport with Idaho license plates 1P73311.
