Gas leak closes northern Idaho senior center
POST FALLS, Idaho (AP) -- A senior center in northern Idaho will be closed for about a week due to a gas leak.
The Coeur d'Alene Press reports that the Post Falls Senior Center was evacuated Monday as seniors gathered for lunch and employees noticed a smell. Some seniors also complained of headaches.
The center's board has decided to keep the building closed until the problem can be fixed.
Senior Center Executive Director Alison McArthur says the center is going to have to raise about $25,000 to replace or bring up to code all three furnaces. She says bids are being received.
