Man stumbles, falls into Snake River Canyon
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) -- Twin Falls County Sheriff's officials say a man who was watching BASE parachute jumpers leap from a southern Idaho bridge into the deep Snake River Canyon stumbled and fell into the canyon himself.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Lori Stewart told The Times-News the man had apparently been drinking. He was watching the BASE jumpers near the Perrine Bridge Sunday afternoon when he tripped and fell between 20 and 30 feet into the canyon. Search and rescue teams, paramedics, police and firefighters all responded, and the man was awake and aware when they hauled him back over the rim.
The man's name wasn't immediately released and his condition wasn't available.
