Inmate dies in northern Idaho jail
LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) -- Authorities in northern Idaho say they're investigating the death of an inmate at the Nez Perce County Detention Center in Lewiston.
Authorities tell the Lewiston Tribune the inmate was found alone in his cell Saturday morning just after midnight by a deputy doing routine cell checks.
Deputies and medical responders attempted first-aid but the inmate was declared dead at the scene.
The Idaho State Police Critical Incident Team is investigating the death.
Additional information and the inmate's name have not been released.
