A murder investigation in Garden City started with a missing man, and it has now ended with a body found underneath a home.

Officers said they are still in the process of thoroughly investigating this case at the scene, near the 5100 block of Elaynea Lane.

Garden City Police told us they were called to a missing person report there on Friday, and later found the 50-year-old man's body. Officers said they learned that Jordan Marie Shaver, 21 of Nampa, fled the residence just minutes before their arrival.

Officers searched the area and located Shaver about an hour later in a business complex near Glenwood and State streets, where she was then taken into custody.

Residents of the Waterfront Park Community near the greenbelt are in shock. The woman remains behind bars and is charged in connection with his death. According to police, investigators have significant evidence linking her to the murder case.

Police would not confirm if the man lived in the home where he was found, but many neighbors were familiar with the owner of that home. They all said he was very friendly and always waved and said ‘hi.’

Garden City Police said the woman arrested, Shaver, is now charged with 2nd degree murder, and she is also charged for unrelated felony warrant.

Police would not tell us if the man, and Shaver knew each other or how the man was killed. Stay with us on Today's 6 and Fox9 On Your Side for more updates.
