Construction at Boise City Hall will close one lane of Main Street, sidewalk until 2013
The north lane of Main Street from Capitol Blvd. to 6th Street will be closed for the rest of the year due to crane work on Boise City Hall. According to the city, the crane will be in place starting Nov. 5.
The structural work will be taking place in the Council Chamber area of the building, and will close the Main Street entrance to city hall. The sidewalk will also be closed along Main Street, and pedestrians will be detoured around the work.
"The construction work on the third floor is part of the code upgrade project to bring City Hall up to current seismic and fire codes," said Vince Tromboli with City of Boise Public Works. "The project will extend the life of the nearly 40-year-old building for at least another 30 years."
