POST FALLS, Idaho (AP) -- A Kootenai County, Idaho, sheriff's officer says detectives plan to pursue a child abandonment warrant for a woman arrested in Washington after her two young boys were left alone along Interstate 90 in northern Idaho.

Sgt. Matt Street says Post Falls, Idaho, police had talked to Shannon Marie Germanton several times by phone before Spokane County, Wash., sheriff's deputies located and arrested her Tuesday night. Acting on an anonymous tip, the Spokane County officers arrested her on a local negligent driving warrant.

The boys, ages 6 and 3, were placed in foster care after they were found earlier Tuesday along I-90 near the Idaho-Washington border.
