Just after 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, two Ontario High School students were hit by a vehicle while on their way to school.

According to Chief Mark Alexander with the Ontario Police Department, the crash occurred on SW 4th Avenue at SW11th Street in Ontario.

"The students were crossing SW 4th Avenue northbound and were in a crosswalk," said Chief Alexander. "They were struck by a 21-year-old female from Caldwell, who was westbound on SW 4th Avenue and operating a 1995 Ford Aspire."

A 16-year-old male from Ontario was taken to Ontario St. Alphonsus Medical Center and has since been released. A 14-year-old male, and brother to the other, was immediately taken to the Boise St. Alphonsus Medical Center by air ambulance in critical condition.

Chief Alexander said they will release the name of the driver later. She was not injured in the incident.
