Frank Abagnale visits Boise
He's impersonated an airline pilot, a doctor and a lawyer ... All while stealing millions of dollars.
But that was the old Frank Abagnale.
He's now one of the foremost fraud experts in the united states, and Thursday he paid a visit to Boise.
We caught up with the man who was the inspiration for the movie "catch me if you can".
Frank Abagnale's exploits as a teenager are chronicled in Steven Speilberg's movie catch me if you can.
Now 64, Abagnale has worked for the FBI for 36 years and enjoys fame without all of it's pitfalls.
"It's kind of amazing because most people know my name and they know who I am, but they really don't recognize me." says Abagnale.
That's a quality that clearly served him well in his early days.
But now, anyone who wants to stop fraud, including these USBank clients in boise, knows where to find him.
"For over 20 years us bank has taken me to banks around the country to let them know the latest things going on and how to best protect themselves," says Abagnale.
His early life inspired a book, a movie, a tv show. But it doesn't impress Abagnale.
"When I look at my life at 64 years old, It's not what I did as a teen boy," says Abagnail, "but the fact that I live in such a wonderful country where you can make mistakes and pay your debt and brush yourself off and start your life over again."
Since joining the FBI Abagnale has helped bust all sorts of fraud.
He's also earned millions for his many patents in the fraud prevention field.
