Boise man convicted in cold case murder
DENVER (AP) -- A man who celebrated after fatally stabbing a disabled woman from behind has been convicted of first-degree murder.
A Denver jury also found John Vasquez, of Boise, Idaho, guilty of felony murder after robbery in the death of Renee Ealy.
Ealy died after she was stabbed 21 times on June 23, 2000.
According to the Denver Post, Vasquez's former girlfriend Marie Marone, of Cheyenne, Wyo., also faces murder charges in the same case. She is scheduled for trial in February.
