A judge scheduled a hearing for Friday to consider Secretary of State Ben Ysursa's demand for a group to disclose identities of donors whose money financed campaign ads supporting public schools chief Tom Luna's education overhaul.

By Nov. 2 at the latest, Ysursa wants Education Voters of Idaho to report just who is behind $200,350 spent on broadcast ads by Nov. 2.

Fourth District Court Judge Deborah Bail is due to consider Ysursa's motion for a temporary restraining order at 1:30 p.m. Friday in her Boise courtroom.

Ysursa says Education Voters of Idaho illegally aims to conceal its financiers' identities, a violation of Idaho's 1974 Sunshine law.

The group, whose founders including lobbyist John Foster were served with Ysursa's motion on Wednesday, maintains federal law shields it from identifying donors.
