Apartment fire near BSU
Residents of a small apartment complex near Boise State University were evacuated for a short time Wednesday afternoon, after a fire broke out in one of the units.
Witnesses initially reported seeing flames and smoke coming from an apartment near the intersection of Beacon Ave. and South Belmont Street.
A second alarm was called because firefighters were concerned with the fire spreading.
Boise Fire Chief Dennis Doan told us the apartment where the fire broke out was heavily damaged but, because of the firefighters' quick response, none of the adjacent units sustained any damage.
No one was in the apartment at the time.
Investigators are still working to find the cause of the fire.
