Arraignment for suspect in Oregon barista killing
OREGON CITY, Ore. (AP) -- The man accused of killing a 21-year-old Gresham woman on her way to work is scheduled to be arraigned Monday on an aggravated murder charge.
Jonathan Holt has been moved to Oregon City for the Clackamas County Circuit Court arraignment because police believe Whitney Heichel was killed in the county, not Multnomah County where her body was found Friday on Larch Mountain. She disappeared Tuesday on her way to work at a Starbucks.
The 24-year-old Holt is a resident of the same Gresham apartment complex where Heichel lived with her husband Clint.
A spokesman for the Heichel family, Jim Vaughn, released a statement Monday saying Holt was a member of the same Jehovah's Witnesses congregation as Heichel. Vaughn called him an irregular attendee. Holt was arrested Friday.
