Girl killed in ATV crash identified
RIGBY, Idaho (AP) -- Officials have identified a 5-year-old Rigby girl who died when the full-size all-terrain vehicle she was driving rolled on top of her.
Jefferson County officials say the grandparents of Reegan Alex Day called 911 shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday to report the accident in the Labelle area.
Sheriff Blair Olsen tells the Idaho State Journal that Reegan was at her grandparents' house and asked permission to go to her house next door to check on her animals. Olsen says the grandparents did not know she was going to ride an ATV back to their house.
The ATV flipped as she returned to her grandparents' house and she died at the scene. Reegan was not wearing a helmet.
