Northern Idaho police say teens confessed to arson
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) -- Police in the northern Idaho city of Coeur d'Alene say they've solved an arson fire that badly damaged a town home this summer.
Sgt. Christie Wood told the Coeur d'Alene Press (http://bit.ly/RWLDqx ) that two boys, aged 13 and 14 years old, confessed to the crime after they were interviewed by police. A tip led investigators to contact the teens.
Wood says investigators believe the teens sprayed a foam accelerant on the walls inside the town home and lit the material on fire on July 29. The building was unoccupied and still under construction at the time.
Police say they're asking the Kootenai County prosecutor's office to file felony charges against the boys.
