Boise Police arrest man in armed robbery near Roosevelt and Kootenai Monday night

Boise Police were called just after 8 p.m. last night, Monday, Oct. 15, to a report of a robbery that had just taken place at a residence near Kootenai and Roosevelt Streets.

When officers arrived, they found a two adult male victims inside, and one of them reported being held at gunpoint. The other said he was hit ont he head with a blunt object. Several personal items were reported taken, including one of the victims' vehicle, a white sedan.

Shortly after midnight Tuesday morning, Boise Police were alerted by Ada County Sheriff's Deputies that the stolen vehicle was located parked at a rest stop just east of Boise off I-84. As officers arrived, they saw the suspect walking toward the vehicle carrying a baseball bat.

The suspect provided a false identity to officers at first, when officers then noticed the suspect had a small plastic baggie of marijuana hanging out of his pants pocket. Police arrested Marco Romero, 29 of Middleton, and after being further investigated, officers found evidence evidence connecting the suspect Romero to the Kootenai Street Robbery. The investigation remains ongoing including the involvement of a second suspect.

Romero was charged with Felony Robbery, Felony Possesson of a stolen vehicle, Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of drug paraphernalia and providing false information to an officer.

Police believe that the suspect or suspects appear to have targeted the victim residence and the crime was not random.
