Boise man arrested for beating neighbor with baseball bat

A Boise man is charged with aggravated battery after hitting his neighbor with a baseball bat.

Boise police were called to a report of a fight outside a home in the 11000 block of West Arabian just before p.m. Sunday. When they arrived, officers found a 18-year-old male who had been beaten in the head.

Police investigated and determined the man responsible for the attack was Cameron Hocking, 21 of Boise. Hocking lives at the home where the incident took place. "Investigators say he and the victim were neighbors who have been acquaintances for some time," according to Boise Police. "On Sunday evening, the two became involved in a verbal altercation in Hocking’s front yard. During the argument, Hocking went into his house and came out carrying a baseball bat. Hocking used the bat to hit the 18-year-old in the head and neck."

The victim was transported to St. Luke's West with injuries that were not believed to be life threatening. Hocking was charged with felony aggravated battery with a deadly weapon/instrument.
