ISP investigates fatal crash Sunday night near Fort Hall
Just after 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14, the Idaho State Police were called to a fatal crash at Simplot Road and Mission Road on the Fort Hall Reservation.
Samuel Haroldsen, 30 of Pocatello, was northbound on Mission Road in a GMC pickup. Aleisa Smith, 50 of Chubbuck, was eastbound on Simplot Road in a 1986 Mercury Marquis. Haroldsen failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Simplot Road and Mission Road. As Smith entered the intersection, Haroldsen collided with her vehicle on the front passenger side. Haroldsen and his passenger, Matthew Haroldsen, 28 of Mackay, were not injured in the crash.
Aleisa Smith was transported by ground ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center. Her passenger, Kevin Smith, 54 of Chubbuck, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
