Idaho Court of Appeals to hear cases this week
BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- The Idaho Court of Appeals is hearing several cases in Boise this week.
On Tuesday, the appellate court will hear from attorneys for Michael C. Williams, who was convicted of voluntary manslaughter because of a bar shooting. Williams contends his attorneys during the trial were ineffective. The court will also hear an appeal in the case of Christopher Ray Schultz, who says both his juvenile court attorney and adult court attorney were ineffective.
On Thursday, the court will consider an appeal from Donetta Kafader, who says the money she won in a lawsuit over a car accident wasn't adequate. They'll also hear an appeal from Craig Charles Risdon, who says his statutory rape conviction should be thrown out because his case took too long to go to trial.
